Tupac Amaru Shakur was, in my opinion, the best rapper and songwriter who ever existed (apart from Bob Dylan). His life was full of ups and downs: always in between success and personal problems. When he was young he grow up drug-dealing and lived under really hard circumstances. He was intelligent and sensible, he had the capacity to write down into words the things he saw on he streets. His songs reflect all the things he lived and experienced: drugs, violence and racism. But he also had this sensible and lovely side, which brought him to write the most beautiful love verses.
He had lots of problems with other gangs and ended up riddled by bullets but his message will never be forgotten: we need to respect each other, no matter who we are and where we came from. Here's the 20th century's Shakespeare:
